…it was called ‘Laurinya’. this ancient terroir is located in the aspres, near the town of thuir, home to Byrrh aperitive wines. over the years it became ‘Lauriga’, then ‘Vigné del rey’, the King’s vineyard, when given to the abbey of cuixà by the King of France in 1068. Its reputed wines were served at the table of the King of Aragon. When taking the estate over, the clars took back the original name of ‘Lauriga’.
